Pastor Rudolph E. Grant is an anointed Man of GOD with strong character and passion, morals, and values, steadfastly devoted to the power of Prayer and to GOD. His Biblical knowledge allows him to communicate how vital our relationship with GOD is to our purpose and salvation which GOD provides. When you hear him speak, you can expect to laugh, or perhaps cry, and then you think, “Wait a minute, that was meant for me”. For than a decade, Pastor Grant sat at the side of Dr. Edna E. Travis, (1929-2019), our Church founder of 49 years. Upon her passing on into Glory, the LORD anointed Pastor Grant to lead the Church through its spiritual transition with courage and compassion.
The Pastor and 1st Lady Grant, the Church Administrator, have been married for more than 50 years, have raised 5 children, and are the proud grandparents of 4 grandchildren.
OUR CHURCH
Founded in 1970 by Dr. Edna E. Travis in the face of strong resistance to women in the ministry. The ministry has prospered on a corner of Tacoma that was well known for its violence.
Since 1983, the Church serves home cooked meals for the hungry on weeknights, hosts Church services at two State prisons every month, operates a Clean and Sober House to ease the transition from incarceration to freedom, and provides rental housing for families and others less fortunate.
WE BELIEVE
WHAT WE BELIEVE
At New Covenant Pentecostal Tabernacle, we base all of our beliefs on the authority of Scripture. In every way, we strive to maintain Biblical standards of living and leadership. We believe that living life according to GOD’s WORD is the way to an abundant, fulfilling life.
THE BIBLE
The Bible is inspired by GOD and is GOD’s written WORD. The Bible is authoritative and upon which we base our faith, conduct, and doctrine.
THE TRINITY
We believe in one eternal GOD, the creator of all things. HE exists in three persons – GOD the Father, GOD the Son, and GOD the Holy Spirit, our comforter.
SALVATION
JESUS died on the cross and shed His blood for our sin. We believe that Salvation through deliverance from eternal punishment for sin is granted to those who accept by faith, GOD’s conditions of repentance, and faith that the Lord JESUS rose from the dead and is coming again.
WATER BAPTISM
We believe that water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of CHRIST and a testimony to our faith in the Lord JESUS CHRIST.
COMMUNION
We believe in the receiving Communion as an act of remembering the sacrifice that JESUS made for us through dying on the cross.
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
A relationship with GOD involves Loving the Lord your GOD with all your heart, and all your soul, and all your strength, and all your mind; and, to love your neighbor as yourself. Your love for GOD will then show itself in your love for people, since anyone who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love GOD, whom he has not seen.
